Just in case this is Japan. Niseko and Hakuba is two major destination for skiing
1/12(Sun) Friends come to Tokyo

My friend Franky from Quebec and Mark from UK arrived to Tokyo on 12th.
We all know each other through my winter part time job, ski patrol at Sunshine Village in Banff, AB.
I never thought this happens even everybody has been talking about Japanese powder trip for ages.
But it happens!

I picked them up at Shinjuku station where is one of the largest, busiest train station in Japan, maybe in the world.
Let me check Wiki... Yes world busiest train station! About 3.2 million people are using it every day.

We didn't have any solid plans for how to meet in that busy station but somehow without any troubles we could meet.

I took them to my parents house in down town Tokyo and stay one night.
Next morning we were heading to Hakuba which is about 280km away from Tokyo.

Mark at Shinjuku
More busy than Shinjuku, Takeshita Street.
Lots sub cultures here.

being tourist
Mark's first dinner choice in Tokyo was "Fish and Chips"
Yes, fish is good in Japan buddy.
Franky, Mr.Curiosity, He tried everything except Natto(fermented soy beans)
 1/13(Mon) Drive to Hakuba, Nagano

Next morning, we drove to Hakuba under super clear blue sky.
On our way to there Mt.Fuji is appealing his beautiful shape.
Mt. Fuji is skiable in May on spring corn snow.

We used ski bag courier service from Narita airport to our hostel.
It cost us only 20 bucks and never delay nor loss, very reliable service.

The hostel is about $27 / night in dorm room.
Average supper cost is $10.
Lift tickets is at most $45.
Who said Japan is expensive?
